ESPN- New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter has resumed on-field work for the first time since his 2013 season was cut short. The Yankees captain hit off a tee in a batting cage and fielded 108 grounders on the grass in front of the infield dirt Monday at the Yankees minor league complex. Jeter, who turns 40 in June, was limited to 17 games last year after breaking an ankle during the 2012 playoffs. “I don’t think about it, and that’s a good thing,” Jeter said.

With all of the things happening so far during the Yankees off season this is clearly the best. No matter if the guy plays 15 games or 162 (never gonna happen) we need Jeter in pinstripes. Definitely going to be short on range at SS and for sure lost a step or two, but he is still a single machine. With ARod out and Cano gone this is going to be a small ball team. Gardner, Ellsbury, Ichiro, and Jeter will get on base A LOT and with Texiera coming back, McCann added to the line up they will bring the power to get those guys home. Very excited for the Yanks this year, if they add Tanaka I will be back to blog about how I ended up in a masturbation vortex and didn’t leave my room for a week. World Series City.

PS Play the song while you stare at the pictures, it makes it so much better
