HuffPost- Mekhi Phifer, best known for his role as Dr. Greg Pratt on NBC’s “ER,” has filed for bankruptcy, reports TMZ. The 39-year-old actor racked up approximately $1.2 million in back taxes, $50,000 in lawyer fees and $4,500 in back child support, according to court records obtained by TMZ. Legal documents also show he spends around $11,600 in monthly expenses, but pulls in only $7,500. In addition to his long run on “ER,” from 2002 to 2008, Phifer is also known for his role opposite Eminem in “8 Mile.” Recent projects include a minor role as Max in the film “Divergent” and a recurring role on the Showtime series, “House of Lies.”

It’s funny as shit to me when celebrities file for bankruptcy, like what the fuck. You literally have enough money to pay someone to count your money for you so this doesn’t happen. All you have to do is save some here and there and not knock up like 30 chicks and you should be golden. Evidently renting out fucking Disneyland for 4 people is not a good financial investment. Time to get back to hosting rap battles to make the rent, huh Mekhi.

PS He has one of the weirdest names that no one ever talks about being weird. Meh-ki Phifer.

For me personally, Kevin Hart is one of the top 3 stand ups out right now. His last 3 specials have literally killed and raked in the cash just like his movies that all open at #1 in the box office. But he is falling into that ‘too much exposure’ trap that a lot of people get sucked into. I completely understand getting your money while you can but you also don’t want people to get sick of you. He is fucking hilarious on stage and his movies are ok, his 2 minutes in 40 Year Old Virgin were probably his best, but all these little bits and appearances he does aren’t really good. He pops in and out of MTV Award shows like he owes them gambling money and he is forced to be there and now this commercial, it’s too much.

ESPN- New NBA commissioner Adam Silver revealed in an interview with ESPN Radio that Miami Heat star LeBron James is among the players who have personally asked him to make the league’s annual All-Star break longer. Silver told the network he met briefly with multiple players during All-Star Weekend in New Orleans and shared that James, in particular, is lobbying for an extended break to allow the game’s stars to enjoy some semblance of respite from the grind of the regular season. “LeBron and I have had a relationship for a long time,” Silver said. “We’re so far in season [that] the relationship has mainly been one of texting and emailing. I spoke to him for a little bit [Sunday], and he had a few things to say in the locker room when I was in talking to the players.

This may seem innocent enough but you have to read between the lines people! When most people read that little story they see “Players are tired, they need more rest, the NBA will in turn get more watchable, everything is great!” However I see it like this..the biggest bitch in the league doesn’t get enough time to take selfies with Drake and Kevin Hart so he wants a bigger break, then when he gets what he wants once, he will never stop texting the Commish for changes that benefit him. And Bron Bron is sneaky enough (you’ve seen his flops right?) that he will convince Silver that the stuff LeBron wants actually came from Silver’s brain. Look at Silver, he is a complete fucking loser. The fact that the best/coolest player in the league wants to be Adam’s buddy and text him will mind fuck just like when the jock’s in high school wanted hall passes (do they still exist). Expect fouls (from flops) to garner 7 free throws, travels to be accepted and half court ally-oops to count for 9 points.

LOOK LEBRON TEXTED ME!!

LOOK LEBRON TEXTED ME!!

Yeah Adam for sure, we'll hang out, how about those 50 wins?

Rolling Stone released their 50 Funniest People of Right Now and the top 10 goes like this..
10. Kristen Wiig, 9. Bill Hader, 8. Lena Dunham, 7. Chris Rock, 6. Amy Poehler, 5. South Park Guys, 4. Jon Stewart, 3. Tina Fey, 2. Stephen Colbert, 1. Louis C.K.

And now here is my gripe about the top 10. Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart are basically the same person in my mind. I don’t watch either show but I guess they do the same ‘fake news’ but real news deal. So lump them together like the South Park guys and also lump together Amy and Tina. Sure they are separate people but they’re better together. Lena Dunham is supposed to be funny but I’ve watched her show a couple times and didn’t like it (or get it maybe) so she shouldn’t be there. Louis CK is definitely number one, he’s had that spot for years now and Chris Rock is so funny that he’s in the top 10 and hasn’t done anything in about 50 years. So here is my top 10 funniest people of right now.
10 Jerry Seinfeld- would be higher but he doesn’t do much other than Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee which is a great show
9 Alec Baldwin- not sure if he’s really funny, or just really fun to watch
8 Bill Hader- watch him laugh at his own funny bits, you will crack up
7 Tina & Amy- when they aren’t trying too hard, they’re great together
6 Anthony Jesilnik- his show sucks but his stand up/roasting is dark and great
5 Aziz Ansari- very underrated, great stand up
4 Chris Rock- makes watching Adam Sandler movies tolerable
3 Howard Stern- doing his best work in years
2 Kevin Hart- almost to the point where he is too accessible, but still hilarious
1 Louis CK- he is locked in right now, can’t do wrong

Hollywood Reporter- Universal dominated the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday frame with both Kevin Hart and Ice Cube’s record-breaking comedy Ride Along and Peter Berg’s holdover Lone Survivor. Ride Along, fueled by younger moviegoers, took in $48.1 million for the four-day weekend — the best opening of all time for the MLK frame, beating 2008’s Cloverfield ($46.1 million). The movie, from director Tim Story, also scored the top three-day opening for the month of January ($41.6 million) and one of the best debuts ever for an African-American comedy, according to Universal. Costing a modest $25 million to make and nabbing an A CinemaScore, Ride Along cements Hart’s star status and marks his first turn as a comedy lead. African-Americans made up 50 percent of ticket buyers, followed by Hispanics (30 percent) and Caucasians (12 percent). Moviegoers under the age of 25 made up 46 percent of the audience.

Before I start this I want to say that I am a huge Kevin Hart fan. I’ve almost pissed my pants laughing at his specials even though the last one (Let Me Explain) had too much hype and it will probably be funnier when I rewatch it in a few months. Also, Ice Cube is surprisingly watchable in most of his movies. He was a great addition in 21 Jump Street and I would be lying if I said I hadn’t seen those Barbershop movies 1000 times on TV. So I’m sure this movie is really funny and will be a great comedy, but this early success is ALL due to the execs at Universal. You release kids movies around holidays when they have school off, you release a comedy starring two black guys around MLK Day. And I don’t mean that to be racist at all, it is what it is. If The Hangover 5 or whatever came out the same weekend it would’ve TANKED. I don’t care if Jon Hamm showed his actual dick on screen, it wasn’t beating Kevin Hart and Ice Cube on MLK weekend. So congrats to Kevin Hart, I really think he’s easily top 5 or even top 3 stand ups out right now (Louis CK has that title and won’t let it go) and I hope he continues to have success but extra congrats to the guy who planned out that release date.

PS How many jokes got missed due to talking and over exaggerated laughing/clapping/yelling? “Oooooo Kev you a fool for dis one!” (Eddie Murphy said it not me)
